How to track your OKX portfolio

August 31, 2026

OKX is one of the larger spot venues and is supported in the full version of Moonitor. Setting up a portfolio against it takes a couple of minutes and does not involve your OKX account.

There is no API key and no login anywhere in this process. Moonitor reads OKX's public price feed and prices the holdings you enter yourself. The reasoning is in crypto portfolio tracker without API keys.

OKEx and OKX are the same exchange

The exchange rebranded from OKEx to OKX in 2022. It is the same company, the same order books and the same prices. Some parts of Moonitor still carry the older OKEx label, so if you see it in the exchange list, that is the one you want.

Nothing about your setup changes because of the name. It is worth mentioning only so you are not left looking for an OKX entry that appears under its former name.

Spot pairs, not derivatives

OKX runs a large derivatives business alongside its spot market: futures, perpetual swaps and options. Moonitor tracks spot markets.

That distinction matters when you search for a pair. A spot pair is written plainly, like BTC/USDT. Anything with a date, a SWAP suffix or a contract size attached is a derivative and is not what a portfolio tracker should be pricing your holdings against. If you hold a leveraged position on OKX, a spot portfolio tracker is the wrong tool for it, and no amount of setup will make the numbers meaningful.

Setting it up

  1. Choose OKX, or OKEx if that is the label shown, as the exchange.
  2. Search for your spot pair. Most OKX volume is quoted against USDT.
  3. Add your holdings with the amount and the price you paid.

Add each purchase as its own entry. Moonitor derives the weighted average from them, as described in tracking crypto profit and loss.

Quote currencies

OKX quotes most pairs against USDT. Majors also trade against USDC and against BTC.

Choose based on the question you want answered. A USDT pair answers "what is this worth in dollars". A BTC quoted pair answers "is this beating Bitcoin", which is a more demanding question and often a more useful one. You can also leave the pairs as they are and change the portfolio denomination instead, covered in track your portfolio in Bitcoin.

Regional availability

OKX restricts access in some jurisdictions, including the United States. This has no effect on Moonitor's ability to read prices, because the public market feed is not geographically gated in the way account access is. You can price holdings against OKX even where you could not trade there.

That said, if you cannot trade on OKX, you probably bought your coins elsewhere, and tracking them against the exchange you actually used will match your fills more closely.
